You could say Michelle Castro was trained to be an account representative by her grandmother. As Michelle says, “When dealing with residents, I think of my grandmother and the lessons she taught me. She always said to treat everyone with respect. This is the way I treat the residents of buildings I manage”. This commitment, along with Michelle’s professionalism and diligence, has made her a sought-after property management professional.

Michelle’s grandmother might not have known about the “Green Revolution”, but Michelle certainly does. As managing agent she was responsible for the opening of one of New York State’s premier LEED Gold Certified properties, a 185-unit residential property in Manhattan.

Her efforts there included setting up a training program for the staff and making certain that the building remains in compliance with LEED standards. Additionally, Michelle developed a program to teach residents about environmentally friendly products and how to integrate them into their daily living.

Michelle joined Matthew Adam Properties as an administrative assistant and worked her way up through the ranks. She now heads Matthew Adam Properties’ Government Supervised Housing Management Unit and is recognized as one of the leading experts in the field. Additionally, she is responsible for several cooperative and rental properties in the Metropolitan area.
